PeopleMatter

PDA provided sounds, lights and staging for the grand opening of the new PeopleMatter HQ on King Street in downtown Charleston. The PDA crew spent several hours getting all of our equipment ready, as we only had one hour to set-up once the street closed at 4:30pm.  Thankfully, we were ready in time for Nate Dapore and Mayor Riley to officially open the building and kick-off the celebration. Afterwards, PeopleMatter was officially welcomed to King Street and the team boogied with the band until 9pm.

Gear for sale

We’re a little late on our spring cleaning, and it’s to your advantage.  On July 26 – 27 from 11 am – 6 pm we are having a garage sale to get rid of the old and make room for the new.

Stop by and see us for great deals. We have installation materials along with lighting, sound, video, rigging and power distribution gear for sale – all at blowout prices.

We need to make room in our warehouse, so everything has to go.  The summer heat has made us delirious with our pricing – you won’t believe how cheap some of this stuff is going to be.

On July 27, in addition to the garage sale, we are also holding an open house from 11 am – 2 pm that will include refreshments and prizes.

Swing by and say hello to the PDA crew.

PDA Video Adds Director of Photography

Meet PDA’s newest team member, Keith Bradshaw. Keith joins PDA as its director of photography.

Keith is a truly a jack of all trades….well a Keith of all trades. Before starting at PDA Keith operated a recording studio, worked as a fine art photographer and played guitar in a reputed band (he also shot video for us as a freelancer). When asked why he wanted to leave the rock ‘n’ roll lifestyle and work for us full time, he explained that combining photography and music with video has given him a new life of creative output.  This move was a natural progression in his career.  Keith brings an extensive inventory of incredible gear and an amazing eye; this combination insures that we produce artfully crafted videos for our customers.

PDA Lights Up the Gibbes’ Street Party

The Gibbes Museum hosted its third-annual street party on Thursday, April 19…and PDA was there behind-the-scenes to help make it all happen.  Fourteen of Charleston’s top chefs, a construction-inspired runway show, and more than 500 movers and shakers celebrated in the middle of Meeting Street.

From the lighting to the runway to the music, our crew worked with the Gibbes to close down the street and bring the party to life!

Our check list of equipment included, two projection screens, projectors, sound system, accent lighting on the building, stage and runway wash for the industrial fashion show (designed by Willi Jones), camera I mag, power distribution, lifts, airstar lighted balloons, DJ set up and the list goes on. Basically we loaded up our warehouse and drove it to Meeting St!

The PDA crew, under Eric Corriher’s direction, made it all happen. The kicker – the event started at 8pm – the street didn’t close till 7pm. We had to set all the street gear up in one hour. Tough under normal circumstances, but add the rain in the mix, and things got a little crazy!   In the end, the event was magical and PDA enjoyed working with the Gibbes for the third year in a row.

Here are a few quotes that we received after the event.

Mickey Bakst of Charleston Grill said, “ I don’t know how you guys pulled it off in that amount of time – amazing – PDA has a great team!”

Mike Lata of FIG said, “Very impressive – can’t believe they got it done in time.”

Lasley Steever of Gibbes Museum of Art said, “ We are so impressed with the PDA crew – we love them, and especially Eric!”
