Old Ads That Make Us Laugh
When PDA first started out, we didn’t have a marketing budget. Honestly, we didn’t even really understand the notion of marketing. In our first year, we just focused on our work and kept buying more gear to grow our business. Then someone suggested that we should run some advertisements, and we decided to design them ourselves.
We ran our first ads with the Up with Herald, the predecessor to the City Paper. We didn’t have much money, or experience with marketing, but we did have a sense of humor.
I haven’t looked at these ads in years. They are funny reminders of where we were, and what we were thinking back then. Although our ads have changed, we still maintain that same sense of humor that we had 20 years ago.
